First of all, Before Taking your phone to the shop (where you are going to sell the phone). consider some make overs to your phone like , removing the dirt, fingerprint impressions( on the screens) . Also, remove the card paper on the mobile phone screen,as it may give a bad look when it comes off .

Don't ever tell the price you have in your mind to the dealer while negotiating , first know the dealer's price for the phone then start your negotiation accordingly.normally a old phone will be taken for a price around 40% of the present market price for the phone model.

Try as much shop(or dealers) you could as you may end up in higher offer price in a shop

If you have the phone Accessories and other things like the phone box , covers in a good condition you may get a better offer price for your mobile

If you are going to buy a new mobile phone in the same shop , consider bargaining for both the purposes (Selling and buying)

Most of them would sell their old mobile phones to the shop where they bought it. There is no Rule( nor any advantages, except you know the dealer very well) that you have to sell your old mobile in the shop where you had bought it.you may consider it selling it to any dealer who gives a better price for it.There are dealers who give cash in return for your mobiles.
