5 reasons,why cell phones cannot replace a conventional digital camera?

Nowadays ,cell phones come with everything packed in it ,right from a simple calculator application to a projector.Even though it is packed with some features from other devices (like , camera,iPod etc.) ,it has not replaced any of those devices (esp. the camera) yet.let us see some five reasons , why a cell phone cannot replace a conventional digital camera.

1. Lack of optical zoom :

Many of us,know that a digital zoom in the cell phones are actually the software manipulated crapping of the photos,while the Optical zoom is obtained by zooming to the subject using your lens.So,obviously optical zooming is better.

With a cell phone you cannot zoom in over a subject without distortion as it lacks optical zooming.So,you have to be close to the subject for a better picture, which is not possible always.

2. Clarity of the images :

Even the best camera mobile available in the market cannot be compared ,with the clarity of the image taken by a low-end digital camera(there are some exceptions too).The lack of image clarity is generally due to lack of multiple lens elements and low sensitive sensors.

3. In low light conditions :

Images taken by a digital camera in low light conditions are far better compared to the cell phone cameras,due to the lack of ISO and exposure controls in most of the cell phones.So you would see a lot of grains appearing in the image.The flashes in the cell phone are terrible and don't really help much, they are mostly for decorative purposes and head-on, causing red-eye.

4. Lack of control over the image :

You cannot control the white balance ,exposure and ISO in most of the cell phone cameras.which results in poor color depth and clarity of the images taken.

5. For the PRO’s :

Professional photographers would like to change the the lens depending on their requirement (in case of DSLRs),which is not possible in cell phones.you cannot use a tripod or a monopod to get a steady images with cell phones.

So,Cell phones of the future cannot replace a digital camera unless they satisfy the above features.if they do satisfy these features, they will be one step ahead of the digital camera do to their portability and easy image sharing ability.
